The Art of Persuasion--Why You Are Being Lied To

By David Drake

If you want to attain your goals in life, then The Art of Persuasion is the most imperative art you can ever learn. There are many variations of persuasion theory, but many persuasion techniques that are part of contemporary day persuasion theory simply do not work in real life scenarios. If what you're learning cannot be applied in real life situations, then it is totally useless.

Everybody who is interested in covert hypnosis has heard of how we can use hypnotic language patterns to influence other people. But is this true? I wonder if anyone can name one single individual who became famous or successful as a result from the so called power of hypnotic language patterns? Perhaps we could name one person, but the truth is Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP language patterns do not profit too many people in the art of persuasion. The only people who have gotten rich off of them are those who teach them for large sums of money.

This shows us only the "hypnosis guru's" are becoming successful from these so called hypnotic language patterns. Yet, it isn't the language patterns that are making them effective, its their deceitful marketing tactics that are making them wealthy as they continually mislead you to pay for their programs.

Covert hypnosis does not revolve around the use of language. Yes, language has its function as it is a kind of communication, but it is no where near as essential as social strategy. Social strategy has to do with the art of making alliances and using these alliances to our advantage. Social strategy is built upon our behavior and every particular subtle act of how we carry ourselves in social environments.

Persuasive techniques are simple, yet they are complicated in their function because they are constantly adapted by a persuasion artist who is using them to have power over his social structure. This leaves us with a powerful principle to fully consider, because true persuasive techniques are basic and yet at the same time complex. It is the simplicity of persuasive techniques that enable us to establish complex theory to fully understand the principles that control and regulate human behavior.
