How To Remove Body Hair

By Kate Lewis

Many people face the issue of unwanted hair and struggle to get results even after experimenting with various techniques of hair removal. A number of considerations such as the location and density of hair growth, your skin sensitivity and your skin type can determine the hair removal method most appropriate for you.

Shaving is the most widespread method of removing hair. Although shaving is effective and inexpensive, the flip side is that it is only temporary and you need to keep on shaving on a regular basis in order to ensure hair-free skin. A good instance of this is men shaving their beards every day. Shaving is also popular for getting rid of chest hair and leg hair.

Waxing body hair is another option. It is a messy procedure that can usually not be done at home without external assistance. The benefit of waxing is that the removal of hair is done from its root and hence, it doesn't grow back for about two to three weeks, offering you a longer duration of freedom from unwanted hair. But keep in mind that waxing is a painful process of hair removal and must not be carried out on sensitive areas.

The third process is using a hair removal cream, which is easy to apply and can be used without anyone's help. These creams do not hurt, but they are not as effective as waxing and hair reappears quicker. There is another danger that your skin may react to the chemicals in the cream, causing a rash.

Those people who have denser hair on certain areas of the body than others can choose to go for hair transplant, in which hair is taken out from the high hair density areas and planted in areas of sparse hair growth. This process is complex and must only be attempted if no other alternatives are available.

Lastly, laser hair removal treatment can be opted for, but it is very expensive. Permanent freedom from hair is the best benefit of laser treatment. But in order to avoid marks or other accidents, it should only be done by experienced professionals.
