Are you a toothache sufferer? If you are you know it can be debilitating and depressing. Toothache can cause the sufferer some intense pain and can be very distressing.

But what is a toothache and what causes it. It seems simple to ask that question, and with a simple answer. It's just a tooth that hurts. And it certainly is. But that doesn't describe how serious the problem is for the sufferer. And it doesn't describe how intense the pain can be.

A leading cause of tooth loss in the US is gum disease that can itself cause a range of dental problems including toothache.

And as well as dental conditions there are also some medical conditions that can lead to toothache as well. Some you may never have even considered likely to cause pain in the teeth. For example did you know that angina can cause toothache?

If your toothache is caused by serious medical or dental conditions you ought, of course, to consult a doctor or dentist and have them diagnosed and treated.

Notwithstanding, it's quite possible to treat the pain, or even get rid of it, by some simple home remedies for toothache. This won't eliminate any underlying medical or dental conditions but will certainly leave you feeling much better at the time.
