Gay Travel To Cape Town

By Howie Holben

Looking for a place where romance and the exotic completely mesh, intertwined for one of the most magnificent vacations you'll ever have? Look no further than Cape Town, South Africa. Located at the very southern tip of Africa, Cape Town has consistently been considered among the top romantic destinations in gay travel circles. Its beauty is beyond breathtaking and will leave you in awe of the forces of nature.

Bordered on the South by the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and on the North by the towering 4,000 foot Table Mountain, Cape Town's horizons are anything but ordinary and in constant flux with the clouds rolling off the mountain's peaks defining the sky-scape randomly and dramatically. The perfect backdrop for an afternoon of lazing quietly on the beach, wrapped in a partner's never ending gaze.

For places to stay, try the gay owned Glen Boutique Hotel. It offers beautiful rooms and well appointed baths. For dinner try Marco's African Place or the Off Moroka Cafe Africaine to try traditional African food. With numerous gay-friendly places to dine and hang your hat for the night.

Looking for things to do won't be hard, either. From romantic tours in South Africa's wine country, try Lyngrove Country House; to historical museums that will leave you emotional and speechless, three to see: Bo-Kapp Museum, District Six Museum and National Gallery; to an amazing nightlife, your vacation to Cape Town is sure to give you the most incredible memories.

On the slope of Devil's Peak there is the Rhodes Memorial. It was built to honor Cecil Rhodes who was a gay entrepreneur from Great Britain, He was the founder of the Rhodes Scholarship, Rhodesia and the DeBeers company.

Just make sure to bring a wet suit if you plan on swimming, because the Atlantic Ocean is cold here. All in all, random wildlife including ostriches, penguins, baboon and monkeys (well, you wanted exotic) notwithstanding, booking gay adventure travel to Cape Town is definitely well worth it.
