How To Cure Panic Attacks

If you've suffered from panic attacks, you know how absolutely weakening they can be. They're physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually draining. They can influence your work, relationship with your friends, friendships and your capability to entirely enjoy your life. They've been described by some as waking bad dreams. How are you able to cure panic attacks?

For those that are lucky enough not to suffer these episodes, panic episodes are the sudden onset of unreasonable fear that begin with no reason. They can be short, occasionally only lasting minutes or they can persist for up to a half an hour. The physical effects can be quite varied : from stuff like a quick heart beat, sweating, quivering, hot flashes to trouble swallowing frequently, the lasting effects can be quite acute.

Then there are the deeper and perhaps more pointed psychological and emotional effects. These attacks can become so severe that one may be afraid to do the most simple of routines,eg picking up the telephone to return a call, or going out with friends or perhaps shopping for groceries. It can become sufficiently bad that some will only do these things when accompanied by a friend or member of the family. It can become so bad that suicide could be contemplated. The easiest way to cure panic episodes then must become a significant focus in their lives.

It should go without saying that if you have repeated panic fits, a medical professional should be consulted as well as your spiritual adviser. Often times, there may be a very rooted trigger that sets these attacks off. If you'll find that trigger ( introspection is known as for here ), you could be able to stop these attacks yourself, though if they endure, medical assistance is highly recommended before it is getting beyond control. In all cases, you need to take action and see about the way to cure panic attacks, rather than hoping they'll'just go away,' as over time they are going to affect the quality of your life.

So, how to cure panic attacks? There are many techniques, but if you just commence with one and do it consistently, this will help. First, realize that you are going to get through this. Take a chair and sit in it, gently gripping the armrests. Next, concentrate on a spot at eye level. It's not relevant what you concentrate on, so long as you you keep looking at that spot and not anywhere else. Next, focus on taking slow deep breaths, pausing between each breath, as this will calm your body but also help calm and center your consciousness.

If you can't get sufficient oxygen, you'll remain perturbed so don't skip this step. Once you have done that, start announcing what you see. You can also repeat an individual mantra. When i am perturbed and unfocused, I start running through everything that I'm grateful for, from my life to my relationships, to my home and everything in between. This will help ground you. Do this till the panic fit subsides.
